Seminars: Multiphysics Design in Opera

Registration has now closed. Check back on our events calendar for further events later in the year.

We are pleased to announce they are hosting two seminars on 9th June 2016 in Amsterdam. These seminars are intended for engineers, scientists and researchers looking to further their understanding of electromagnetic and multiphysics design using finite element analysis. No prior knowledge of the use of Opera simulation software is needed.

Applications Manager, Dan Ilea, will be there to show you how Opera can assist you in your design needs.

Optimization of Electrical Machines and Power Systems Devices in Opera: 9:00AM-2:00PM
Electrical devices are becoming more sophisticated and complex, yet development timescales invariably shorten. In today’s global marketplace, competition is becoming more intense. More than ever before, successful products need to be highly optimized for their target markets. This might demand optimization in different forms such as lower material costs, better performance, smaller size or greater efficiency.

09:00 Registration & Welcome
09:30 Introduction to Opera
10:00 Opera for Electrical Machine Analysis
11:00 Break
11:30 Opera for Transformer Analysis
12:00 Optimization in Opera
12:30 Q&A
13:00-14:00 Lunch

Design of Magnets for Scientific and Medical Devices: 1:00-5:30PM
As scientific projects push the boundaries on collider power and accuracy to allow greater insight into fundamental physics, medical devices are similarly increasing field and homogeneity whilst being constrained on packaging and stray fields. See how Opera can help in designing magnets considering central field strength and homogeneity, forces/stresses, charged particle tracking, quenching, shielding and more.
